Which is what they are intended to do. They are designed to be studio monitoring headphones used in music engineering where you need to hear every note accurately and not muddied by bass.

Agreed. I didn't realize how "boring"/uninvolving my 595s are until I plugged in some Kramer modded Koss KSC75s- a $10-$15 headphone. The KSC75s pulled me more into the music than my "better" 595s despite their technical faults. And that's a problem.

After that realization I picked up a used pair of ATH-AD2000s and love them. Their only significant flaw is with classical/symphonic music- everything sounds "wrong" with them. I always pick up my 595s when I listen to, say, the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.

The AD2000 is clearly out of OP's price range but I like the way Audio-Technica voiced them. If the ATH-AD700 was designed by the same engineers... I haven't heard them but I'm willing to bet that they're a solid choice.

I'm curious. I keep reading about the 595 having a different angle, but the 555 and 595 have the same driver units. Sennheiser calls it the "System with resonator" and it contains everything pictured here. I've personally taken both models apart side-by-side scrutinizing for differences and the only one I saw was the infamous foam rectangle in the 555.

I'd like to know what the source of the angle theory is and if it's been backed up by proof. It's entirely possible that I'm missing something, I invite correction.

The only thing that I would ever get from razer would be their mice.

Their mousepads are good too. Only buy Razer mouse assessories, nothing else from them.
