I understand what they look like now, but why would I be concerned about them bending? The motherboard will be face-up, and the pins are on the front side. So I dont understand.

ALSO, I'm having trouble finding a milk crate to buy on the internet. If anyone happens to know where one can buy milk crates, then that would be great.

Buy is a relative term. smile.gif Scout your local supermarket and you might get one for free if you ask nice. Other than that you can buy milk crate style boxes at walmart or target. They look similar just not built as heavy and generally white or black in my experience.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was referring to the rear of the motherboard where the electrical components' pins come out and are soldered to the board. A shoddy solder job + pressure on the pins directly could dislodge something. I think even a simple hand towel would be fine, just something to distribute the weight a little bit.

Alright guys, I've purchased the zip ties, and the milk cart. And the computer parts are on the way.
Im just wondering if I need any fans at all? I mean since its all open, and I dont know much about airflow.
I know that I need to keep the hot air out, so maybe one big fan thats strapped to the back and pushing out (towards the open top) or something. I dont know.

You'll still need at least a CPU cooler - unless you want your rig to shut off in 10 seconds.

Now sprinkle leds all over that mess! :3

Seriously though, it looks cool and all, but I hope this isnt permanent. Buy a decent case when you can. Dust and a lot of airborne crap can kill your motherboard. I killed my motherboard once doing this. (Maybe its due to the fact that I have huskies)
