Silver Arrow mounting orientation

I got this straight from a Thermalright tech:

Thanks for your mail, the direction surely matters. As we have tuned out copper base to certain direction, you can tell the convex bottom is a specific curve. The best way is to set the air blowing from the ram module to exhaust fan area.

Best Regards,

I'll be reinstalling mine soon. Presently my fans blow up towards my Storm scout's top exhaust. Please feel free to comment.

That's how I mounted mine. Made the most sense.

If you are using 3 fans on the SA. What is the preferred setup? push/push/pull or push/pull/pull?

If I had 3 fans I'd use push/pull/pull

Actually you'll only be wasting money with 3 fans. The two supplied is all it needs. You won't see any difference in temps. The TY-140 would make a great case fan tho.

Why not? If it fits, go for it. If nothing else it will look cool tongue.gif

I found this review and it's compared a push/pull setup for the SA and push performed better. So maybe push/push/pull could do a better job than push/pull/pull in cooling

Actually I recently built a rig with Asus p6t deluxe v2, I removed the side (noise reductive module) from my case and installed a fan that blows air ONTO the lower end of mobo and GFX card. This reduced mobo temp with 10-15C, CPU with about 5C and GFX with about 10C. Running with stock cooler so far btw, buying a new cpu fan soon.

Mobo idles at 36C and CPU at 35. When I play heavy games mobo tops at 46C and CPU around 72-74C.

Specs:
CASE: Define R3, No PSU - Silver Arrow

PSU: 750W Corsair TX CMPSU-750TXEU 140m

Mainboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Intel X58 DDR3
CrossFire/SLI

CPU: Intel Core i7 930 2.80 GHz 8MB Box
130W S1366

GFX: MSI N480GTX-M2D15 - GF GTX 480 -
1.5 GB - DirectX 11

RAM: Corsair 12 GB kit DDR3 1333 Mhz

HD: Samsung 1TB SATAII/ 7200 HD103SJ

Thought I'd share since I just built this setup a week ago.

(there are 2 x 120mm fans at about 1300 rpm in the front and back of this case)

Oh and I'm using PC probe and realtemp to measure these temps.
