i7 920 D0. How to OC further?

Thread Starter
I have my i7 920 P95 stable at 3.8 Ghz right now. Its at 180x21.
Pushing BCLK further makes it either hang or BSOD (Irrecoverable HW error).
Temps are not breaking 60 (water cooling).

What should I change to OC higher?

turn your QPI down. 1.2 is fine

your PLL doesnt need to be this high. 1.84 is fine.

take your IOH and ICH down to 1.15-1.17

higher PLL and even QPI can cause instability.

im at 4.2GHZ i hardly need to touch any voltage other then Vcore.

Try my suggested voltage's.

Do you have any recommendations for an i5?

Same would apply.

These voltages are good for up to 4.2GHZ average. but more extreme OC's will need bigger boost's. if u are not even at 4.0Ghz. these voltages other then V core can remain stock.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I had sold my i7 earlier, so I had to turn off the system to pack it. Getting a 2600k tomorrow
