Is the TJ07 really the best way to go for a WC case?(Post #1 important!) - Page 5

The only good thing about the 800D is space.
Airflow is bad cause of only 1 intake.
And I personally don´t wanna cut and haul around a 280€ case because I am inexperienced and I don´t have the tools.

I want the TJ07 only problem is I want to use 19 inch tubing and some people have told me that I would encounter issues with the 480 radiator mounted at the bottom.
That is why I asked which way I should route the tubes to the radiator if it was even possible with 19 inch tubing.

You don't have to cut the bottom of the 800D. You can fit a 240 rad on it's side at the bottom (with enough room for push/pull). The cold air is pulled in through the dust filter at the bottom, and the hot air is exhausted behind the motherboard tray out the rear of the case.

Here are the rads that I know for certain will fit on their side:

RS240
RX240
mcr220
TA 120.2
PA 120.2
GTS 240
GTX 240
SR1 240

When you mount the rad on it's side at the bottom of the case, you have to attach the fittings after you place the rad. That's the only caveat I have seen on the various builds I have done.

I have chosen the TJ07 cause of numerous recommendations not only over the 800D but mostly every single WC case on the market.

It is supposed to be the best with the MountainMods series but they are a bit too expensive for me.

I will fit a 480 at the bottom on the left and another 480 SLIM on the right sight ...looked over the measurments..I won´t be able to push/pull but it will work with PSU installed.
Then 240 at the top and 360 in the front

Thank you all for your help!

Yeah +1 for TJ07.

They're a pleasure to work with. My only gripe is how much of a pain in the butt the cable management is. The few TJ07s I have built I had to make custom aluminum and plastic compartments to route all the cables (you could use zip ties and what not, but it looks tacky in my opinion). I also had to cut cable management holes in the motherboard tray.

A powder-coated TJ07 just makes me drool. Check out some of the Murder Mods stuff for the TJ07.

You won't be able to run tubing and wires both through those holes. No way at all. That's why I was saying the only bad part about the TJ07 is the cable management.

Hi, again.

I take it you got your other questions answered by the comminity?

As for the list, I would consider different clamps. Maybe think about worm-drive clamps, Herbie clamps or maybe even zip-ties.

The reason I don't like those is that the retention pressure is "passive" (for a lack of a better term). The aforementioned methods are "drawn tight" and held in place by a mechanical locking mechanism, and do not rely on the tension in the material for their grip.

Also, The Aqua Tuning thing is really cool, but it seems to be more bling and zing than actually practical... but perhaps your modus operandi is different than mine (a neautral statement).

When configuring any given system I try to adhere to this philosophy:

"Perfection in engineering is not achieved when there is nothing more to add, but rather when there is nothing more to take away"

...or something along those lines... I can't recall the quote verbatim.

I would also consider swapping the reservoir that you have with a Swiftech Micro res (if available in your area), or another smaller and rectangular reservoir.... kinda like the square peg, square hole philosophy... but again, that is purely subjective.

And do you think so too that I will have problems with my thick +85 Revolution sleeved cables and the half inch tubes running through the same hole? or cablemanagement at all?

The cable management of the TJ-07 does leave something to be desired. It lacks depth behind the motherboard tray and does not have those awesome gusseted cut outs that I have seen on other cases.

Imho, with some planning, you may not need to run the wiring and the tubing through the holes you intend to use.

You could always put yer modding mitts on a expand or add holes.
