Are my temps normal?

Hi everyone! I´ve just finished assembling my rig with a Phenom II x2 550 unlocked to x4. I bought a scythe mugen 2 to cool it better. My temps on full load are of 47 C on the cpu, individual core temps can´t be monitored. The processor is running at 3.6GHz with 1.47 v core voltage.

Is the cpu temperature the same as core temperature?

Are my temps high?

Core and cpu are the same, essentially. You are just fine. By CPU standards, 35 is average idle, 50 is heating up, 70 is very worrisome, and 90 is dead and fried. You are just fine.

Depends on the chip
The offset may be more than on others (or less even).
But usually you can always trust whichever value is the highest.

It is really silent, surprised me a lot!

What is the maximum CPU temperature for an AMD phenom II x4? I overclocked it to 3.8 GHz and maximum temps reach 52ºC with 1.5 core volt. Is this a safe temperature? I want to hit 4 Ghz stable.

70c is the max temp, yours is alright, try to keep it under 60c
they like to be cold

i wouldnt push the voltage much higher 1.55v is the limit for 555be
c2be = 0.850-1.425V
c3 = 0.875-1.40V

if your aiming at 4ghz, you might need to lock up the other 2 cores again
they overclock better with 2 cores than 4

plz fill out the form here so we can help you better
