Well...ff14 flopped big time and they need money so why not milk ff13 some more? Maybe this time around they won't have to put in a 30 hour tutorial.

Although i also think they really need to finish Versus XIII. I needs mah KH2 esque fix!

Wasn't the X-2 combat system pretty much completely revamped from X?

Face it, you're living in the past and letting nostalgia get the best of you. As is the case with most things when it comes to sequels.
xD Not at all. That's all FF13 was about. Pressing the attack button over and over and over.
Lightning, Snow, and the girl with the lance. Just press X until you're low on health, swap over to healing, spam X more, and then rinse/repeat. No boss or enemy stands a chance.

Games like Last Remnant where the "take-turns" shows that you're dead wrong about nostalgia. The system just works for RPGs and until they can actually create depth in these real-time action crap systems, then that's the system that is guaranteed to be the best.
You're just a hater.

Kind of. They added in the dress spheres which added a dynamic swap into the mix so players could change battle styles on the fly. It was a good system but the only problem was that the game.... was pretty awful with it's characters and story. In the case of FF13 - it's the opposite imo.

I 100% agree with Omega. Turned based systems have always been the best for creating deep, tactical combat systems.

Seriously, if you want to play a game that isn't all about spamming attack, attack, give Lost Odyssey a try.

No attack, attack spam in that dojo.

IMO, Squenix sort of has their heads up their asses with FF. Since 7, they've always ended up making the story SOMEHOW involve some sappy couple, rebellions, and oppressive kingdoms and whatever. Hell, when I saw the Black Rock Shooter game coming for the PSP, I immediately got put off when they announced that the same dude behind FFX and KH1&2 were behind it, later to find out that he really did butcher the franchise for some "story".

I liked 12 for somehow putting a dent in that, since it was hard to even call Vaan the main character, and they didn't even focus on a stupid love story with him. Oh, and the orchestral renditions are just earsex; I love how they brought back the original FF theme.

Though, if they wanted to make money, then they would've just released another emo-feeding FF7 spinoff or something; it's bound to sell tons.

Oh, and I agree, FFX-2's battle system was wasted on the theme. That game was soooo gay.
