Wait - you actually bought crap? lololololol
I just found the weapons in the damn chests, looked online to see which one was the best, and poured BOAT LOADS OF MONEY into leveling up the weapons to their Omega level.
Only time I visited the store was to buy 99x of some stupid material.
No, that's not quite true. It is true that FF games are always very linear at the start; but in the best ones, there are side quests or other non-essential things to do/places to explore even in those early parts of the game. (E.g. the monster hunting in FF12.) And then, maybe 1/3 or at most 1/2 way through, the whole world "opens up". Especially in the old-school days, when getting the airship was the gateway to the whole world (this goes all the way back to FF1).
The same thing happens in FF13, at least regarding to the "opening up" part.
But sadly, it's not like you can actually do anything because even the tinniest of enemies will eat you alive
lol I found it so funny when I go into the open grass area and I was like.... this isn't exactly "open" if I can't do jack without dieing!
