Folding Noob

Thread Starter
So Ive been folding for maybe 15 hours and have completed *checks* 7 WU's with another on the way pretty quick I think, and yes, its for OCN

I started poking around again in here :

http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...l-threads.html

and decided to try and get the HFM.NET running but it doesnt seem to be updating the PPD for me, about how long does it usually take to do so?

Also should I shut down the CPU/GPU F@H clients and add them to the HFM.NET?

Just trying to make sure I get the bonus points in when im able to, and also that it goes towards OCN, thanks in advance I hope my contribution helps us to position 4!!

Does your progress bar never turn green? Post a screenshot of your HFM window.

I just looked at it now, and it updated, a reported PPD of 7.1k

Im assuming this is just for my CPU though right?

You don't need to shut down the clients. They update every few minutes, I think you can set it in preferences. Also, are the bars green? If so, that's nice. If you select one and hit f5 then it updates, or f6 updates all your clients.

Yeah, that's probably only your CPU if that's the client you installed. Also, when you finish your first 10 WUs, make sure you add the bigadv flag if you're gonna be doing 24/7 folding.

Yeah, Ive subbed the main faq page and have been skimming it over here and there after work.

For the GPU, do I just add another client?, I have them both (CPU/GPU) clients installed and am actually folding on both.

Also just started folding on the ps3 as well lol

That's definitely your CPU since the GPU would get much higher PPD. You should add your GPU client to HFM.

He's got an x6 @3.2ghz, I'm afraid bigadv is out of the question. I would try and get the GTX 470 to fold too, that should get you an additional 15k PPD.

Edit: I see you are folding on the GTX 470...just add it to HFM so you can see your PPD.

Add the Folding@home-gpu folder for a new client.
