Help picking a monitor, 23inch+ ~200$ - 300$

I keep reading about monitors and can not come to a clear decision. I don't want a 3D monitor and my only concern is gaming (FPS / WOW) for this monitor.

I have looked at the ASUS 23inch and the ASUS 24inch but I hear the 24 suffers from input lag / ghosting.

Any suggestions would be great.

The monitor was already pushing my budget so deciding to wait an extra week for next pay check. So I'm just going to extend my budget on a monitor to ~325.

I should have included my uses. Gaming is the only use I need it for.

The games I play are:
WOW
SC2
few FPS's every now and then.

Game performance > looks for priority.

THanks

EDIT: For reference I currently use a 2253BW Samsung, which I do like but it is going to my gf's PC. So I want a bigger and better monitor.

25.5 ASUS VW266H (1920x1200) or 27" ASUS VE276Q (1920x1080) if you want big.

23" Samsung XL2370 (1920x1080) if you slightly better image quality and vibrancy.

Although for around $300 I think you can pick up a 23" Dell U2311H which will have far better image quality than either of these.

Just a note, normally I'm biased towards the 16:10 resolution, but in the case of Starcraft 2, the 16:9 resolution is better as it allows you to see more - as seen in this image.

Choosing a monitor is being very difficult.

While I read a lot of good things on the Dell U2311H the 8ms response time scares me from that.

Since the 24in Asus wasn't recommended I assume it's quality isn't on par with the others. I had no plans to go over 24in so it is between the ASUS, Samsung, and Dell.
