AX750 GTX480SLi - Page 2

I've seen a pair of 480s draw 850 in stress testing on a lot of reviews. To close for comfort if u ask me. And I wouldn't want to be running my psu near max all the time

I found this review of the AX750 while doing my own research into whether I could run SLI 580's off the same model PSU.

http://www.kitguru.net/components/po...pply-review/4/

892W before shutdown and 90% efficiency all the way.

(I do regret not getting an AX850 for the piece of mind.)

yes its 892 before shutdown but its rated at 750 for a reason.its like a car yeah your redline may stop at 8000rpm but there is still a slight more it can go but if you go a bit too far beyond that boom.so would you really want to run your car at a constant redline?

sure thats worst possible scenario but i like knowing i never have to worry about going over. also keep in mind i doubt they have as many drives as you, a physx card or a cpu overclocked as much.

Either it's unrelated to power or his TX is faulty. A TX750 can handle two GTX 470's. And under normal gaming conditions his load would be <5-600w anyway.

@OP, You could probably get away with it at stock but i'd get a bigger PSU if you plan to overclock.

Thread Starter
Guess I am better off with a better PSU, running stock is just silly.

I am thinking HX1000 or AX1200 will both do the job?

and now i'm just 2 reps away to sell my brand new sealed in box AX750
