numbers in names in bc2

im trying to add a certain player to my friends list... in game his name starts with the number 7.
when i type the first character of his name, 7, it comes out as 07... so its impossible to add him.
am i msising something?

wierd.
You do both have to be in the lobby at the same time as far as I know. I find that friends requests get lost if one of you is playing.

This happens with server names too

For example in the server browser "1000 tick heavy metal server" will actually say "01000 tick heavy metal server" when connecting to it.

oh man im pissed frown.gif i played with this squad last night and we did SO WELL and i wanna add them. do you think there is a way to find steam users by BC2 soldier name? ( maybe they are non steam) oh well probably not frown.gif

If you add a friend in steam, there's the option to view players you've recently played with. Maybe try that?

im pretty sure steam and the EA servers that handle ur in game friends list are not connect.....

I thought BF2 used steamworks. My bad. Must be getting it confused with cod.
