Good info all. I'll stay at 110 MHz and drop back to stock voltage for now, curious to see how the CIV Extreme and its chipset/controllers handles the increased PCIE frequency (checking the specs for the JMicron JMB362/JMB363 now). Regarding OS data corruption, fsck has handled file system inconsistencies gracefully thus far, including several automatic system reboots while benching Heaven 2.1 at 125 MHz.

i bumped mine to 115 a few years back, thinking that was how to oc a gpu, lol, i know i know, but it ****ed everything on my pcie bus and my 2 new(at time) gtx 280's graphics became blurry and havent been able to go into sli since!! along with various bsods in games, and all sorts of buggy stuff, the sound card copped it to, changing volume levels and sometimes hissing loudly, shame really, my ignorance was far from blissful let me tell ya

I'll be sure to pay attention to any such issues if and when they rear their heads.

this lol.

and overclocking PCI-E actually increases core clock on some GPU cores.

and where is your proof of dead HDD's from PCI-E overclocking?

i have mine at 105 MHz. base clock is at 200 MHz. CPU running strong at
3.8 GHz. i also have RAID 0 going on my HDDs so my chance of getting failures are amplified. that said, no failure so far smile.gif
