GA-P67A-UD7 - Which Voltage? - Page 2

I would just make sure you stay below 1.4v. Check EasyTune 6 to see what your voltage is at 100% load.

The VID on 2600ks are around 1.2v usually, well both of the chips I am working with are...

CPz and HWmn don't read vcore they instead read qpi/vtt on GB P67 boards, you want to use easy tune.

FYI 1.5v is fine, 1.35v is a joke.

On the other hand, 1.35 does not seem correct either. How high are you able to OC at that BIOS setting? My UD3 can get me only up to 4.2 or so.But we have lots of people (with other manufacturers' motherboards) right here in this forum reporting being able to reach 4.5 with a lot lower voltages. There's one guy showing a screenshot of 4.3 at 1.18 V, one guy claiming 4.5 at 1.24 V, and one guy claiming 4.8 at 1.32 V. So either I am the unluckiest person on this forum, or there's something wrong with voltage settings in Gigabyte boards.

I have a ray of hope for you - update the BIOS. On the stock F3 BIOS I had something over 1.35Vcore for 4.2Ghz... just testing for fun now on F5 BIOS without changing a single stock setting except the multiplier I am at 4Ghz rock solid 20runs of IBT.

vCore is currently 1.21V. Nothing amazing, but many times better than the other BIOS. Keep in mind that's on auto - I just wanted to see if the BIOS made a difference. It may still be stable at much lower vcore...

I`ll keep you updated as I actually take the time to set voltages, and let me know how it turns out for you. good luck

EDIT: LOL I even have C1E, speedstep, or whatever it`s called on - drops vCore to 0.89 and down to 1.6Ghz at idle- I can`t believe this is stable without tweaking a thing.

EDIT AGAIN: It continues - (preliminary) 4.4ghz stable without changing a single setting except multiplier. loads @ 1.26V

All the ASUS boards are reporting lower voltage than what they're really giving the chip IMO.

I have nothing to back this up other than everyone with an ASUS board also seems to have a golden chip, and everyone without an ASUS board doesn't.

I'm currently stable through 20runs IBT @ 4.5Ghz - every single setting on auto, under load 1.284Vcore. (includes C1E, speedstep, etc - 0.92Vcore idle @ 1.6ghz)

It's hilarious how easy it is to get a decent overclock with these things, and you don't even have to sacrifice the power saving features...

there is also some possibilty of a BIOS bug on gigabyte boards where the Vcore is sometimes displayed incorrectly. many other people are experiencing this. Vcore is listed around 1.0xx volts but the CPU voltage says 1.3xx volts. i would look to see if gigabyte is going to release an updated bios any time soon and update as soon as you can.

Yes!!!!!! drum.gif TRUE for me also, @ x46 w 1.3 volts - shows 1.096 in CPU-Z!
