URGENT! Motherboard fried AGAIN! PLEASE HELP.

Thread Starter
I just got my motherboard back from MSI a couple of months ago and now it's fried again. I think I managed to do the same thing as last time, I turned my computer on, tried plugging in my USB mouse and accidentally hit my ESATA hole instead (on the backpanel). There was some sparks and it started to smell burnt so I turned off the computer with the button. When I then tried plugging in them mouse correctly and boot it up the fans just spun up. I turned it off and tried again. Now my fans worked okay, but there was NO display AGAIN. Same **** as last time I had to RMA. I can't go through the RMA process with that **** company again, because I bought it from the US and now live in the EU, I have to send it to a guy in the US who then has to send it to MSI, the whole process will take forever and cost me tons again. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. I'm panicking, it can't happen AGAIN. Please help me, PLEASE. I have no idea what to do. Last time I tried everything, but nothing worked, since the motherboard was destroyed, it's probably the same thing again. WHAT SHALL I DO?!
Please help me, I can't be without my computer for another 2 months just because the **** company refuses to receive the RMA in the EU.

Edit
I checked my computer again, and I realised it wasnt even the ESATA contact it was just a regular USB contact (they're right next to each other and I thought I had misplugged when it sparked).

I doubt there's anything you can do except RMA it, although it's kind of a shady RMA since it was obviously caused by the user.

Just learn from your mistakes this time.

My 3 cents:
*stop panicking
*disable Esata, remove that mouse and try to boot without any of them
*if it doesn't work the board is toast; you'd probably be best buying a new board; as a side note I had the best RMA experience w/ Gigabyte in Europe in regards to motherboard failures

P.S. You must have pushed quite a bit to fit an USB mouse in an esata port... the force is with you.

*EDIT: just a thought - maybe something is shorting in the eSATA header. As a last resort: if you're good with soldering, or know somebody who is (like a TV repair shop) you could remove the header from the board. Your mobo should work just fine without that header if nothing else got burnt.

So somehow you shorted your board by trying to wedge a usb mouse into the E-SATA port? I am not sure how that is possible unless something isnt properly installed, did you use the standoff's when you installed it? It just seems odd that if that were possible they wouldnt have taken steps to make sure it didnt happen.

Also when you say it happened "again" do you just mean it isnt working again, or that this is exactly what happened last time where you tried to wedge the mouse in the wrong port and shorted it, and if that is the case, knowing the results, why wouldnt you be more aware of it?

I'm wondering how sparks were caused by pushing the USB into the e-sata? Sounds like there was something wrong with the system other then that particular port if something like that caused sparks, maybe your case is cursed? Or just has an area near the back of the case where something is touching the underside of the MOBO, and you pushed just hard enough to short it out <.<

You don't understand, last time it was in the correct port and there was no fried stuff or anything, it just didn't boot the next time I started it. I didn't even push it in, it just touched for half a second. How can I unplug the esata thing?

By the OP it sounded like you did this before. Now you're saying you plugged something into the correct port, and your computer just stopped working the first time? Sounds off to me.

The spark was caused by a short, if I had to guess.

As for how to turn off your eSATA port, that will be in your BIOS.
