First Build =D - Page 2

Orion is the same company as HEC, and HEC supplies a ton of prebuilt system PSUs. They are not exactly quality, but they aren't terrible either.
I know they make bargain basement PSUs, but I had a 585wt Orion that worked just fine for over 2 years.
Does the OP want something better?
I assume yes.
But if it's not total garbage when it fires up, then it's probably OK for now.

Am I the only one slightly disturbed by the plastic-looking thin woman?

Not bad for your first build, no need for me to repeat what everybody else is saying

Also, does anyone by any chance have an extra GPU cooler they don't need?
A CPU cooler? I have a reference GTX 480 cooler lying around, but thats a GPU cooler

Use this software or everest if you have it to check voltage of your PSU.
HARDWARE MONITOR>It shows 3.3v,5v, 12v & more.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Yes, I know software is not as accurate as hardware (ie: voltmeter) but it gives good comparison reference.
You should be ok with current PSU, till you can afford a quality one.
Great desktop also

Don't worry, everyone chokes on the PSU on their first build. I went through about 4 before finding my first good one

Things that first builders overlook:
1) PSU's
2) Motherboards (I just returned a mobo I thought was good but wasn't, and I built my first PC 8 years ago)

Thread Starter
Lol of course I want a better PSU, but it works for now and isn't total crap. But the PSU does get hot at times.

Nah, I wanted a GPU cooler for my 9600GT but mines not a reference card, my fan is placed in the middle of the card, so a GPU cooler wont fit.

Thanks for all the feedback on my first build. I can't wait to upgrade my parts though, then this piece of work will turn into a beastly machine.
