Should be fine. I would get a more trusted name for the piece of mind however but you're good to go for a 5870.

Where did you get 50A from? His PSU has two 12V rails, rated at 25A each. The combined wattage is 450W, making it 37.5A.

Such huge amperage on the 3.3v (25A) leads me to believe your Chieftec PSU is either
A)Cheap
B)Based off an old design
C)Both A and B

The 5870 and 6870 are pretty thrifty on power consumption though, so it may work.
