saves $85, or $5 per month, depending on if you lease or own. Good deal for the unlimited download speed plan, almost $20 cheaper than the same Comcast plan.

Yea, and be prepared to be excessively & consistently throttled to anywhere around .25-.50Mb/s at the slightest hint of actually putting your "Unlimited" home connection to use.

Worst ISP ever.

That's about what you can expect with 4G, might be good for phones but way too slow compared to cable or dsl. And, at least around where I live, you can get cable for a little more, and way way faster.

Hmmm, I don't know about you guys but when I'm downloading I get around 1MB/s (not Mb/s) download speeds. Downloaded Cinema4D in about and 1hr 45min. Its a great service in my opinion.

I have been with Clear for about 6 months and had very little problems. My download speed is consistently 1MB/s or a little faster. I did go through a brief period where throttling was an issue at times but haven't been throttled in several months now with consistent 150GB+ /month.

I wouldn't sign a contract with them. I paid for the modem but at the time they also gave me a $25/month credit for 2 months so I ended up only paying $35 for the modem and no contract.

Download speed beat my standard download speed with Time Warner.

Obviously YMMV with your proximity to the tower, throttling, etc.

I experienced the same throttling right after I installed my modem but a quick call to customer service about it helped. Just say you're not getting the speed that was advertised and they'll get you up in no time.

I will like to see more review on CLEAR as I will be moving in the next couple of month and will need a ISP. The internet will be used for streaming movies, (netflix) ocasionally gaming, and browsing. Need to bring down a few bills

I gotta show some love for the speed though, my download speed was consistently 1MB/s when I first started up, since I'm heavy downloader I noticed that there where caps consistently.

Anyways take a looksie at this blog: http://broo2.blogspot.com/search?q=clear

And thats exactly right, the speeds are great when your not being "managed". I usually can get 10-12Mbit spikes when not trying to put my connection to use. Currently I am hovering around .60Mbit D and .98Mbit U and have been at this exact level for about 4 days now. Calling tech support does nothing. Level 1 keeps trying to guide you through the crap troubleshooting, but Level 2 (when you can get to them) will tell you your being managed for heavy use and that there is nothing you can do but wait until the system resumes speeds.

The problem starts when their (I am assuming automated) system for detecting heavy users and load balancing all connections on a given tower has you labeled as a "heavy user" and from what I can see there is no set guideline for this label. I personally am not a bandwidth hog, but I depend on my internet connection for work and I have a somewhat large family here that likes its internet connection and depends on it for all sorts of usage.

This is all of course my personal experience with Clear, but I was extremely happy with the service and had zero problems UNTIL the very next day after my initial 14-day money back period. I am still with Clear, but only until income tax rolls in and can afford the deposit to switch to another solution.

I'm not the only one either, all you have to do is check out the forums on Clear's own website towards the bottom under "Common Complaints"... http://forums.clear.com/clearcom
