Samsung or the LG. No need for the Dell ultrasharp if just watching movies.

Thread Starter
i've gone with the sp2309w now Koven. if i dont like it i'll send it back. I was very very close to buying the u2410. BUT i wont use it to its full potential. Besides its more a Professional Monitor than one for gaming and HD use! not that it doesn't perform well for them tho!!

@pbasil1 - i have viewed the LG. And i didn't like the HD playback at all. Gaming was very good though. PLUS, the Dell is just sexy as hell!! the Samsung was so so close to being had BUT features on the DELL won it... still... if im not satisfied..it shall be returned! for what i paid for it, if it lives up to its billling, then im buzzzzzzin!

Please don't talk about what you dunno. Really.

HDMI and DVI are the same quality, only HDMI is more compact and carries a sound signal.
The panel is far more important than the backlight
Brand names, like in GFX cards, mean nothing really except for warranties and external assessories / features. the panels, like in GFX cards, are OEM'ed left right centre.

Anyway, I'd definitely go for the HP ZR24W. Low response time, low input lag, and IPS.

Really, so ur saying HannsSpree is of the same quality of Samsung? I dont think so.... That is like saying Biostar and EVGA are on the same level. Also, its common knowledge that DVI and HDMI are the same, but the monitors that come with HDMI usually will have more connections which backs my HDMI recommendation. Also I did not recommend a high end panel bc unless you are doing something professionally you do not NEED a high end panel. Also I do not appreciate your rude post.

I have a Samsung XL2370, it's great cus it has HDMI in, DVI in, as well as optical sound in and a headphone jack out.

This way I can use it for PS3 (HDMI+Optical in, use headphones for audio), and use the DVI for normal computer use.

It's a bit expensive but IMO its worth every penny, I have been using it for a couple months now and don't regret it one bit.

When he can afford one, why not recommend one? Also for HD movies, you'd want a monitor with high colour accuracy, which IPS has. Insisting a monitor has a HDMI connection is silly as it limits the choice. Graphics card come with a DVI to HDMI adapter for a reason.

if they are using the same panel, then yes, they'll be very close in quality.
