Overclock MSI GTX460 768MB OC edition? help!!! - Page 2

Ok finally with some help I could unlock the voltage control and this are my results:

OVERCLOCK 1
voltage 1.087v
core 900MHz
shader 1800MHz
memory 2000MHz

with this setting i can be able to run heaven benchamrk 2.1 and then play about 2 hours without any issues

OVERCLOCK 2
voltage 1.087v
core 930MHz
shader 1860MHz
memory 2200MHz

with this setting the heaven benchmark run fine but in crysis and aliens vs predator (DX11) the graphics are not good, in both games the buildings and vegetation seems their images are repeated in the sky it's like the kaleidoscope effect, I don't know exactly how to explain, and in the crysis the map only see the bottom half, the other half is blurry, and objects marked on the minimap are also fuzzy.
The sistem never crash but is not fun to play, also FPS did not rise much.

I'm gonna keep trying more settings, if someone knows how much i have to rise the memory depending on the core clock or the shader or if each value is independent one from another, help would be appreciated, thanks.

well if the higher OC bugs your textures/artifacts, try more voltage ( theres a bios for 1,2V or sth like that, but i woudlnt do that ), just satisfy with the highest stable settings 900/1800/2000 its not bad. i know u want more like twice we all here @ OCN would like that ^^ but oh well, sometimes u need to satisfy with what u got.

that's right killer625, but i just try 930/1860/2000 maybe the problem was the OC on the memory @2200

memory really helps the 786mb preform

jenkas, u should just leave memory on stock, achieve highest stable core overclock, and then OC memory till its unstable.

I can hit 900 even 925. If I leave my memory alone (stock 1800) I have run 975 for some time but it seems to become unstable over time. My issue lies in the memory clock. I cant adjust RAM voltage alone on my card (MSi N460GTX 768 Twin Frozr II) If I got much more then 1850 I get nasty flicker on my secondary screen. Locks up after about 10 min of Kombustor.

I can push all the core voltage I want(1.212V max on current bios) and my temps stay very cool, I havnt breached 70C running kombustor on a 65% fan speed. I know they say these cards can do 100C but my personal limit is 80C. Typical gaming on 60% fan speed I sit right around 50C. I like 60% fan speed because it most closely matches the noise (Db) of my other fans.

Why can I run such a great core clock but such a crappy RAM clock. The other thing I have noticed is that at the same exact settings in Xtreme Tuner HD produces less flicker on the second screen. Is XTHD BSing me about the clock it is producing or is afterburner buggy?

that's a good idea, i'm gonna make some test and the next week i send my results, i'm also was thinking the problem was the memory frecuency.

let me try and post my results by the monday or maybe tomorrow

No i can't do more than 900c anything else will result in a unstable OC i will stay with 900 or 850 with stock voltage, the performance don't raise much anyway, not worth the risk
