Does my psu influence ability to use acc?

Title of the thread says it all. I'm currently powering my X2 555 rig with a 400w Zallman psu. Even though it's ancient it's powerfull enough for this setup and a 4850 1gb.

Problems arise when i try to unlock any cores on my cpu, Now i know the MSI 870-C45 doesn't have the best voltage regulation and my 400w psu only has a 20 pin connector instead of a 24 pin.

Will this psu prevent me from unlocking any cores? Have tried any possible combination ranging from -12 to +12, Ramped up the vcore to 1.4, Set everything to stock and using optimized settings but it just stops after passing post.

Looking forward to your input.

Not really, but your board does.

Unlocked Phenom II x2 = at least 125W.
Never run a 125W TDP processor on a 4+1 power phase board.
Especially without mosfet heatsinks.
Especially with a tower heatsink (no air to mosfets)
And especially, ESPECIALLY on an MSI board.

Wasn't planning on running unlocked on this perticular board. Just wanted to check if my X2 could unlock before i throw some more money towards a decent AMD board and use the current one in a customer pc.

I'm surprised it didn't shoot out flames already when i started pushing my oc
