[INQ] Intel will ramp up 22nm wafer production in 2H 2011 - Page 8

With 22nm technology, intel could easily add more cores.
How do you not? The Tock in Tick-Tock means a die shrink, not an architecture upgrade. Obviously 2 cores is better than one but a die shrink alone mostly helps with temperatures.

And of course mobile fusion is out but that doesn't even compete with a C2Duo.... Why would anyone care about a netbook in 2011? Obviously we're all referring to the desktop chips here.

No its not x68 is the replacement for x58

Gulftown is Tock, yet it have two extra cores when compared to Bloomfield

So is it not worth upgrading to Sandy Bridge with a 1155 motherboard around May?
Was it a complete fail? If so should I just get a 1366 board and processor instead?

Not sure what to do now..

If your dead set on Intel and want SB go for it when the chipset malarky has settled, it's an excellent cpu, you won't regret it.

If you're not a dyed in the wool fanboy and have your own mind, BD will be out around may time if not before, so you may as well at least see what that brings.

There is no review that shows Fusion close to i3 (I talking about the ULV models, not even regular models)

Please check anandtech review that has ULV Core i3-330UM 1.2GHz and Zacate E-350 1.6GHz benchmarks
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4023/t...-benchmarked/3

330UM is much faster (sometimes nearly twice as fast)

....

Also, you can check the benchmarks of AMD E-350 against penryn-based celeron SU2300 1.2GHz from here
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...pu,2840-9.html

Celeron SU2300 performs better than E-350 in CPU bechmarks even though the difference is not big between the two.

All those reviews refute your claims. The fastest fusion CPU (E-350), can't even beat a low clocked celeron dual core
Some people are blinded by emotions. They think that just because you disagree with their facts that you're a fanboy. Little do they know that you have been supporting the other side as well only a few years ago during the lolPentiumD days.

God forbid ATI comes out with another killer 5870 type card again leaving Nvidia in the dust, you'll be called a traitor for buying the better card at the time of purchase.

As I understand it if a company attains a complete monopoly over something in the U.S. they have to be broken up, assets split and formed into competing companies again. Although how that works with international companies, I'm not sure..
