IE Compadibily Mode

Thread Starter
I am making a website to supplement my resume and naturally I want it to look good in any browser. The problem is when it is in IE with compatibility mode off it looks great but a notification bubble appears telling the viewer that they should turn it on which makes it look like garbage. What in the HTML code triggers this and how can I disable it?

I think you need to make your code compliant with IE7 standards so that it will look great on any post IE6 browser. As a rule most web developers work this way, some still use a separate style sheet to render in IE6 too.

it would be better if you pasted your code. Also are you coding in HTML 4 or 5 and CSS 2 or 3? This reason alone is why i code still in 4 and 2, too many large scale businesses use IE so there is no reason to use 5 or 3 until they step away from it
