The GTX580 is better because
a) It's a single GPU (no microstuttering, more stable FPS, no compatibility problems or profiles needed)
b) It can beat the HD5970 while overclocked... and it overclocks a lot better.
c) It has support for CUDA, PhysX, and 3D vision!

a) my gpu doesnt stutter if it would then by the first day i would have returned it

more stable fps? what do u mean by this? 5970 beats 580 in performance A LOT (yes even in dx 11 - NOT in benches dont get this wrong im talkin about games)

and what are u talkin about dude what kind of compatibility problems? please explain what compatibility problems are u talking about because ive never ever heared about such

oh btw, ever since day 1 i never used the catalyst app profiles and i never ever had problem in any games (atm got 83 games installed on my pc got proof in case u care)

b)the 5970 was built to be OVERCLOCKED

how can you compare an oc'd card to a stock card.. and p.s. even if u oc a 580 to lets just say.. to high clock speeds an 5970's performance would be still higher

and what? gtx 580 oc's better? dude.. 5970's default clocks were even lowered to be able to reach higher overclock %'s then any other card ever did

c)if i am really an ultra nerd and i am playing games just to see moving colthes over some buildings and have extremly huge amount of unrealistic particles dropped to the ground just from shooting one bullet to the wall i will then buy a GTs 450 from ebay for almsot free and will use it for cuda and physx

(idk how are u with this but i usually play games for gameplay and u know, a moving colthes or **** load of glass on the floor wont really change anything in the gameplay atleast for me)

also 3d vision is only available if u have sli
