well sadly i havent gotten the newest version to work on my rig yet, so i still can use my gpu's to boinc. quick rundown of whats transpired, i have tried every ati driver including and after 10.5 catalyst, still would not work and thought maybe i just needed to format and start over. i have come to the conclusion it is infact the ati drivers not cooperating with the boinc manager. i also was wanting to go to raid 0 so i did it all in one shot with raid and a fresh install of win7 64. first thing i did is try 10.12 and it wouldnt recognize all my monitors, actually it was not letting me turn of one of my cards crossfire, so i reverted back to 10.11 same thing on card crossfire wont turn off. so i thought ok well let me just try to install boinc manager and give it a shot on what ive got and STILL it will not connect to localhost. boinc.exe flashes up on processes and is gone 1 sec. later. also the first time i fired up boinc after install it came up with some message that it had a serious problem and needed to shut down and would i like to send a report. crap now it opens fine but just continues to try to connect to local host..... i am boinc cursed, i know it for a fact now. can you ati guys with three cards tell me what drivers your using that will work with boinc.

Disconnect the crossfire bridges. crossfire supports 4 GPUs max, so any more connected will cause propblems.

Just slot all the cards into the PC and make sure each card is connected to a monitor so it is detected properly by Windows.

Then make sure you install the APP version of the AMD/ATI catalyst drivers (needed for OpenCL).

If you already has drivers installed, use the very latest DriverSweeper 2.8.0 (be careful during install not to install the third party crap) as it is the version needed to properly remove the drivers and the registery changes made when installing the drivers. Then reboot and install the APP version AMD/ATI driver again.

Lastly, make sure your PSU can support all cards while under load - or you'll continue to have problems everytime you load up the cards.

UN-nefer you are the MAN!! ok i just have one more issue now. well let me start from the beginning, being as my cards are 4850x2 i did not have a crossfire bridge installed as its built into the cards. ok after getting the right drivers and restarting it a million times i got it un-crossfired finally. i only can get one of the 11 monitors working now, but im sure i will as it ALWAYS take a bunch of tinkering with displays on my system becuase it never has like this many monitors no matter what driver version i have. anyway i have boinc running finally but heres the problem it is running on my 4 cpu cores just fine, and i have clicked use gpu when comp in use, and also gone to all the project preference pages and selected use ati gpu and no cpu. updated each on the manager, and whatnot. anyway when i start up boinc and go to messages when its is checking everything it gets to the gpu and says there are no usable gpus present. oh i have also already done the use all coprocessors config trick too. so any ideas so i can get this going before BgB3 starts???? oh and i will paste the message too.

yes i did install 10.12 app version, thats the only reason i got as far as i did, but still boinc says no usable gpu's. i would like to add that i moved the 3 ati .dll's that need to be renamed out of system 32 and boinc works, move them back in so all 6 ati and amd named dlls are in there it will not connect to localhost. finally moving one at a time i find its aticaldd64.dll that is the culprit. but i have no idea what to do. i have moved that file out of system32 for now so my cpus 4 cores can work but if i put it back wont work, plus with it out i do not get to use my gpu's. somor help?? thx

Is each GPU enabled? Make sure all GPUs are enabled in Device Manager:
start -> right click "Computer" - > select "Properties" -> then click "Device Manager" on left

Also, I see you're using Win7 64 - did you install 64bit ATI APP drivers and 64bit BOINC client?

If so, try this:
  1. Stop BOINC from client and then close your BOINC client
  2. Go to http://boincstats.com website and sign in
  3. Click "Project Preferences" on left
  4. Select the radio option "Detach All Hosts Now" for every project listed
  5. click "update"
  6. Go to http://dnetc.net and sign in to your account
  7. Click "DNETC@HOME Preferences"
  8. Click "Edit DNETC@HOME preferences" and set as follows and then click "Update Preferences":
    • Resource share: 100
    • Use CPU: no
    • Use ATI GPU: yes
    • Use NVIDIA GPU: no
    • Is it OK for DNETC@HOME and your team (if any) to email you?: yes
    • Should DNETC@HOME show your computers on its web site? yes
    • Default computer location: ---
    • Maximum CPU % for graphics: 10
    • CUDA core selection (NVIDIA GPUs only): ---
    • AMD Stream core selection (AMD GPUs only): ---
    • CPU core selection: ---
  9. Go to http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/ and sign in to your account
  10. Click "MilkyWay@home preferences"
  11. Click "Edit MilkyWay@home preferences" and set as follows and then click "Update Preferences":
    • Resource share: 100
    • Use CPU: no
    • Use NVIDIA GPU if present: no
    • Use ATI GPU if present: yes
    • Is it OK for MilkyWay@home and your team (if any) to email you?: yes
    • Should MilkyWay@home show your computers on its web site?: yes
    • Default computer location: ---
    • Maximum CPU % for graphics: 10
    • CUDA core selection (NVIDIA GPUs only): ---
    • AMD Stream core selection (AMD GPUs only): ---
    • CPU core selection: ---
  12. Go back to http://boincstats.com website
  13. Click "Project Preferences" on left
  14. Select the radio option "Attach All Hosts Now" for DNETC ONLY
  15. Click "update"
  16. Open your BOINC client
  17. Go to "Projects" tab
  18. It should now only list dnetc
  19. Select dnetc project and then click "Update" on left to update the project
  20. Now check your log or taks to see if GPU tasks are now being done
  21. If they are now working, go back to boincstats.com website
  22. Click "Project Preferences" on left
  23. Select the radio option "Attach All Hosts Now" for Milkyway as well
  24. Click "update"
  25. Open your BOINC client
  26. Go to "Projects" tab
  27. It should now only list both milkyway@home and dnetc

Let me know how you go.

Have you made sure that each GPU has at least 1x monitor connected to it? Or that you have a vga-dummy plug for each GPU without a monitor to simulate connected monitors?

For whatever reason, if Windows/CCC does not detect a monitor connected to the adapter (GPU), then the adapter (GPU) will not be accessible in Windows/CCC and it will then not be available in BOINC.

Check CyberDruid's quick DIY for modding dvi-vga adapters into vga-dummy plugs for your cards HERE
