I'm so stupid

Thread Starter
So I had a mini-CD in my DVDRW drive and forgot about it. I've put my PC on its side to do some work inside of it and I just turned it on and realized that the little CD is still inside the drive & its refusing to open. It doesn't appear to have a just-in-case-stick-a-paper-clip-in-here hole either confused.gif
Does anyone have any ideas on how to open the drive and get it out??

take the drive out of the case, shake it vigorously, then attempt to extract disc.

Remove the drive and remove the screws to take off the cover?

Try to wedge something small between the drive casing and the tray. Then pull on it, use pliers if you have to. Make sure to be as gentle as you can though!

Only if it successfully unlatched the tray when you tried to eject. Otherwise you'll break the latch mechanism that holds the tray shut if you try this.

damn mini disks. gunner.gif

If your PC is a desktop, remove the cover and manually extract your DVDRW. Then see if you can take the disk out.stitchfacesmiley.png
