Publisher Electronic Arts has a history of its mult-platform games having demos for the console versions but not for the PC version. Recent games like Need For Speed Hot Pursuit and Dead Space 2 have continued the trend. Today comes word that the upcoming first person shooter Bulletstorm will be getting a demo for the Xbox 360 and PS3 ports on January 25 but no mention was made of a PC demo.
We have emailed EA and co-developer Epic Games to confirm but if true it's especially disturbing to learn that Epic, which and Bulletstorm's co-developer People Can Fly, both of which started out as hardcore PC developers, cannot provide the same demo they are giving to the console platforms.
Partially, however at the same time they encourage the problem. Having a demo would mean that a lot of people would not need to torrent it to try it out.

Lack of a demo is no excuse to pirate.

If all of the above is true, then why would they pirate it in the first place?

Go where the money is (i.e. consoles)
However on the other hand is it really that hard to create a demo for the PC to give them a teaser as well?
Im on the fence on this one.
I'm sat next to you.
I don't condone piracy, but I can see why it would drive some people to do so, yet it still doesn't make it right.
Pretty sure hearing the recent news about the ps3 getting hacked, the tables are going to be turning quite soon. So you could say even console gamers will get their "demo" one way or another.

My post was directed at pirating the game rather than purchasing it. You then said the above statement, indicating that it is not worth it's weight it in gold with the above problems. Yet if a game is that bad, why would they want to pirate it anyway?
Notice I said they, I wasn't accusing you of piracy.
No pc demo means that the pc game will just be a horrible console port......
As the person who has put more hours into Epic's games than anyone else on this forum... I second this. They are not a company interested in quality titles anymore, especially on PC.
...as for my claim of most hours... I'll put money on it.
i think if i play it it'll be on ps3. i might just rent it
