This is like the third thread I have read you saying that the G73JH has Xfire MR5870s. STOP! No Asus G73.. has xfire or SLI, you are spreading miss-information.

Now I do agree that a single MR5870 will out perform the 460m by a slight margin, there are many many issues w/ the G73JH (ATI) series that have been addressed and solved in the G73JW (Nvidia).

While the MSI unit limes posted is a nice unit I have to agree with Stizuner on this one.

I would get a Lenovo ThinkPad T140s and switch out the parts; get a nice new SSD with a fresh copy of windows 7, some ram, and maybe try to re-apply the heatsink with some better thermal paste.

you can get a great deal on an alienware laptop if you watch the dell outlet center. the refurbed laptops come with a new laptop warranty, and they also offer discounts as well. i saw an online coupon late last year for 30% off any refurbed system.

i love my m17x. i haven't had any issues with it at all. having said that, if you plan on gaming on your laptop, the asus g73 is without a doubt, the best bang for your buck. something comparable configured from alienware, new, is almost double the money.

you could also wait for the newer laptops to release as well. alienware already has their new m17x r.3 out now that has the new mobile sb intel's in them. more will follow soon.

long story short, if you want a laptop NOW, i'd get the g73. if you can wait a little, you might catch a great deal at the dell outlet, or find a new sb intel laptop that you really like.

i can't wait to see what asus' new laptop will be that replaces the g73. it might be my next laptop.
