P67 Motherbourd
Lian Li Pc33 case

and thats it

anyways , I REALLY dont feel like taking the motherbourd out to install a backplate for a new cpu cooler , is there no CPU coolers out there that I can just plop ontop of my CPU? or will all aftermarket coolers require me to install a backplate?

Thanks for the advice

Most CPU's will make you use a backplate, just so you don't flex the board. Since the new generation of i-series chips run cooler. You could run something quite cheap and get very good performance. The hot cooler is the Hyper 212+, but as you said. It will require you to add a backplate.

I am looking to build a new icore7 system. Someone on the forum told me to buy this for cooling, XSPC Rasa 750 RS360 Universal CPU / Triple Radiator Water Cooling Kit . I was supprised to see the price as low as it was.

my case is flat...soo a cooler is not hanging sideways like a tower.....think I could mount it without a plate?

spent 3 hours putting this thing together.....and I never got an aftermarket cooler AND the damn P67s cant support old IDE DVD drives...so had to get a $200 blu-ray writer!

Also , what is high temps for these new i5's?

My old 9650 would hit 70c at 4.8 and survived.

my i5 is running at 3.6 and max temp is 55c.....that high?

Im sick of watercooling , too big and clunky!

I just want a fan a tad better than my current intel heatsink!

The RASA would be a little overkill for a SB chip. Since they run quite cool. But yes, the kit is cheap and effective

You might be able to, but it's not recommended. Plus sometimes the mounting hardware use the back plate to screw into. I know this is the case for my water cooling kit. & as for the i5. 55C isn't bad at all.

This option would be more recommended over a dedicated water cooling loop.
