The unit on the bottom of the computer is a self contained "deep freeze" unit. And, just like your own refrigerator and freezer at home, it does not require "maintenance." The hose you see in the picture was fed through the modified computer case chassis to the CPU.

The liquid itself is some form of very volatile refrigerant, but I don't know what it is (e.g. R111, etc.) At the point it engages the surface surrounding the CPU, it undergoes a phase change, cooling the system a great deal.

Thanks for the explanation, I kinda guessed it would be Liquid to Gas endothermic reaction. Didn't quite have the in's and out's sorted. +rep smile.gif
