O.o hot? the fans on my 1545 are rarely even on. The only time they turn on are at max speed to rapidly cool down the cpu and gpu. Your brother should check out his temps and put some compressed air through the heatsink.

By the way, to be honest this Dell which was originally purchased for $500 and feels even more solid than my mom's $750 Dell

I got a MSI E7235. Its nice, and handles most of the games I play with reasonable frame rates. Here are the specs

That's interesting. Might have to do that, idk. That thing just runs hot hot lol. And oh no doubt, I wouldn't mind stealing theirs and giving them mine I only own Dell products when it comes down to prebuilt computers.

this is my laptop (well not quite, a netbook, but a powerful one compared to the usuals)

atom dual core at 1.6ghz
2gb ram 1066mhz (thinking of sticking another 2gb stick in)
250gb HDD (may go to SSD)

i like it, a lot, im using it now as im at my nans and its a great little browser, a lot more stable than any other netbook i've used, not one crash to date, the screens much nicer than a standard netbook aswell, in fact, its not your standard netbook, i get like 4 and a half maybe 5 hours battery life, which isn't near to the 6 claimed (i have to use extremely underpowered settings to get 5 hours, but i like it, a lot as i said, really nice high quality product, unfortunatly mines been battered quite a bit due to use at school, so its not looking quite so pretty on top, but its ok, still sexy every where else, i use it as a network bridge the majority of the time for my main desktop LOL, the worlds most expensive wifi card haha, but asides, packs a punch for its size, and looks stunning, love it to bits.
