remove fan led's

Thread Starter
I reused some quality fans for my new server build but the fans have blue leds that are really agrivating due to the location of the case in my house. Can I just take a knife aand cut off the leds or will that fry my entire rig off of 1 watt led bulbs? Its not to big of a deal but id rather not have to buy new fans

Ive ripped the LED's out of lots of fans. Never hurt a thing..
I would shut the rig down while your cutting the wires tho, Common sense I know.
Just had to say it.

i've snipped the wires on all but one LED fan so far (about 6 blue fans, and ~10 red)

they'll work just fine

Thats what I figured. I'll just be careful not to short the wires after I cut them.
