650w or 750w?

Thread Starter
How much do I need for my Sig Rig if I decide to Crossfire 6870's? Both the CPU and GPU's will be overclocked and I'll have an H70/H50 in P/P with 4x case fans running as well.

Also, what PSU would look best in a White Silverstone Raven? I was thinking about getting the NZXT Hale90 but I can't decide if a White or Black PSU would be better. Thanks!

650w should be enough imo, that is if i'm remembering the 6870s power draw right.

A good brand 650 watt or 750 watt would be good.

I would personally go with the NZXT Hale90 because I love NZXT support.
Either way you go you're getting a respectful brand.

"500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for AMD CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)"

That is what AMD's website says. So, according to them, 600w will handle them easily since they have to give themselves a little breathing room, right? I'm just worried about how much extra power they would consume if overclocked.

A 600W PSU is recommended from AMD for 2x 6870s so either a 650W or 750W would be fine.

As for color choice I'd try to get a black PSU to counter all of the white from the case.

If you plan on high-overclocking and having a pump, I would say at least 650 watts since it's never good to skimp.

Lesson # 14 - Never skimp on your Power supply.
