Just got my PII 715 :D

Yup, just got this little bad boy (aswell as a SpinQ, which I got for $20 off of TM's B stock ), and I'm already hella impressed .

Crysis, which was originally getting about 24 fps on the ol' phenom 9600... Now gets about 30 (high 29.x's) ... I'm so hyped!

The sheer overclockability of this thing is quite impressive aswell...

I've only have had this bad boy for about 2 hours and I've already got it up to 3.6ghz... and as far as I can tell, stable, with only 1 voltage bump!

To say the least, I'm stoked for tomorrow's attempt for the 4ghz milestone

All in all, if you're on an old AM2+ and have been looking to switch to get away from that bottleneck, this processor is definitely a must buy!

And as a quick question for all you others with the same chip, or architecture, how common is it to hit that 4ghz milestone?

lol your title confused me, I thought Pentium 2 715? I doubt you'd be able to hit 4GHz with that Phenom unless it's a super golden chip.

Well I know this thread is slightly older but I am in the process of OCing my 715 right now. I am about 4 hours in on a P95 burn with the cpu at 3.5. 3.6 always crashes on me.

You need to increase your voltage so it doesnt crash. Only increase like 0.025.

Maximum voltage is 1.55v

Ok im working on 3.6ghz again. I got P95 to run for 6 straight hours at 3.5. I pushed up my vcore a little higher and seem to be initially stable at 3.6. Temps are hovering around 49c.
