I would buy the 6870. Good price/performance right there.

They compete with GTX 470's

mind you i picked evga and xfx specifically for the reasons of lifetime warranty(don't want to go through this again.) and evga step up should the gtx 560 drop anytime.

i was looking at that as well if my intention was to step up hoping this card and 560 are in eligible step up qualifications.

see if i get that card i can price match over at ncix for 209.00 and then use the 30 dollar mail in rebate to essentially get it at 179.00. here take a look..

the more i look at this selection out there the more i hate rebates.
mail in rebates should really be the responsibility between the merchants and suppliers.

LOL.
sli would draw more power no?
but yeah 179 each is nice for the 460's
however i think when we take multi card into account the 6850's look more attractive due to power consumption and price ratio to performance scaling as well.
the only reason after looking at the 460 now would be the option to step up later.

Go for the 6870 and get another one later if you need more power. They scale like crazy (almost 100%!) and should hold their value well if you can find one by Asus.

I mainly do business with Canada Computers since they tend to have the best prices it seems. I have had problems with tiger direct before and I don't like them because of it.

I don't deal with mail in rebates anymore. It's just a pain. Sometimes I get them back and sometimes I don't.

As for a card I would go higher than a 460 since you have a nice monitor with a high resolution. I would do 470 or 6870, 6950. Asus and Sapphire are both great companies....

man i just don't want to deal with the warranty issue ever again.
this power-color 5850 3 days after bs hurt a lot..
i feel the sting in my pockets even before buying a new card still and a bitter taste in my mouth still. personally i too hate mail in rebates. i do not plan on buying the card from canadacomputers anyways. i just use their pricing as reference to price match at ncix.
so essentially i can buy from anywhere and just price match at ncix in the end.
what is sapphire's warranty like? i know asus does a 3 year.
