it wouldnt even do this without a x124 BSOD, at 4.0.

Tried lowering the PLL to 1.4 without changing any other settings, BSOD. Did this all the way up to 1.7 and BSOD.

About to go back to stock, figured Id try a 27x133, which I had before my RASA kit. And its been folding almost 24hrs. now, with memory at 1600, and with every setting on AUTO. So I think its safe to say the memory is ok, and this is with a 1.5x unc. Going to try 29x133 and see how it works, should I still leave everything on AUTO when i go 29x133?

I noticed a QPI speed setting in bios under, slow mode was one of the options along with some other rates. Should that be changed when change the QPI voltage?

Also, I'm using CPUID Hardware Monitor to check my voltages, and noticed PLL shows up as .10v and not 1.8v or whatever I have it set at. Whats up with that?

Interesting thread. Been struggling myself and finally found a sweet spot:

I can run @ 4.1 with 137x30
Vcore: 1.356V
VTT (aka QPI): 1.3V
Left the PLL@ 1.8V(auto)
I am running my 12GB memory @ 1910MHz

I am trying to get to 4.2 but my CPU seem to get too hot @75C full load when I try to put in more Vcore.

That sounds pretty good. I'd recommend the RASA 750 RX240 kit. Its great, I had it hooked up in less than 2hrs. Few hrs. for leak testing, with no leaks for my first ever water kit. Keeps it very cool.

I am too lazy to maintain a full blown water cooling system. I had one before... I think these enclosed units work really well.

Here are a couple of new findings:

The IMC on my Gulftown is a dog.
I found that the uncore frequency scales with VTT and that unlike what others say the PLL Vcore does close to nothing in terms of temperature but does affect performance.

My IMC will run at 1910x1.5=2865MHz with a VTT of 1.3V but I noticed how low my memory benchmark scores were at the same memory clock and timings compared to my 920 D0 bloomfield. I decided to try to go for 1910x2=3820MHz. This could not be stable until I got to a VTT of 1.4V and guess what, the memory benchmarks scaled accordingly. My conclusion is that there is no point of running the uncore frequency @ 1.5x the DRAM clock with you try to ramp up the DRAM clock like I was.

I tested decreasing the PLL Vcore from the 1.8V default down to 1.425 and 1.5V. Although it did not appear to affect stability, my LinX speed went down from 81Gflops to 77. More than 5% loss while my core temperatures remained unchanged. I will therefore be sticking with 1.8V.

With Ambient at about 23C my cores get between 71C-75C under load. I don't think I will get much further.

I've never messd with the skews, what do these affect, and when should you start needing them?

What is the batch# of your chip and how much did you test the stability? I am anal about my test as I run the Intelburn test and Prime95 along with memtest86+ so any error is not acceptable to me.

Im kinda lax on IBT, I run 3 tests on Max and then just run 36hrs on Custom Blend using all my ram in prime 95

Edit: I just had to up my QPI to 1.32 to run my uncore @3500 for new memory.

Currently running prime95 custom blend again with new memory 2hrs so far no erros.

Is that with HT on or off? I just leave mine at 3.8 with HT on because I don't feel like ruining a $1K chip I was also getting blue screens at 4.0/4.2 but I believe that had alot to do with trying to run my 12GB ram at full speed...

You can give your volts and data as much as you want.
Not all CPUs are the same, even in the same batch.

Also, some of the volts you suggest are very much not needed to test CPU clock, like IOH and ICH.
ICH can help when going multi-GPU, but it won't affect the CPU overclock much, unless you are pushing the blk really high.
