6870 is now 50$ more than hawk. I don't thinks it's worth adding 50$ more for 6870.(these are prices in my country). It would better to buy cooler for phenom x4

Right now as of today anyway on NewEgg.

MSI AMD 6870 Twin Frozr II for $239.99 after $30 mail in rebate with free shipping until 1/31/11.

MSI GTX 460 Hawk Talon Attack for $229.99 + 7.56 shipping for $237.55.

Both are great products. In my own opinion I'd go AMD 6870 however. I feel it's performance is better than the GTX 460 1GB and comes close to a GTX 470.

230$ for gtx 460 hawk in USA? In my country i pay hawk 300$ and 6870 costs 350$.
Now Im thinking again, buy:
Athlon x4 630+aftermarket cooler+6870
or
Phenom x4 925+aftermarket cooler+gtx 460 hawk

In my opinion I'd go the MSI or Sapphire AMD 6870. If you can afford MSI AMD 6870 Twin Frozr II is the better of all of them. I feel it's the better card between the two. Crossfire those and you've got competitive FPS to the Nvidia GTX 580 in a fair number of games, where two cards can be utilized anyway. Not to mention AMD 6870 crossfire leaves GTX 460's behind in the dust. AMD gets better gains from thier second cards over Nvidia. Known fact, I could post a bunch of specs but you could also check out any reviews you'll see the same.

Either way they are both great cards. They both offer 1.4a HDMI which is 3D capable HDMI for Blu-ray or games if you someday so choose. Good luck.

Happy gaming!
