Honestly all of the ISP's are rubbish... I need some help.

I am currently with Orange who have a TERRIBLE customer service, none of them seem to know what interleaving is and are just reading from a little books. So I am unhappy with Orange so I decide to look for another ISP but they all seem to be rubish.

TalkTalk - I like their online forum where you can get an almost instant change on your broadband, however they only offer broadband and phone line to them, I don't want to change phone line so they are out of the question.

PlusNet - Good prices and I can talk to them on their forum and on a live chat, they also seem to understand what interleaving is and how to turn it off, furthermore they can just offer broadband, the problem is they don't offer unlimited download which is CRUCIAL for me.

Sky - Can't find any online support and have seen bad things about their broadband, if they were to have some kind of forum of live chat for customer then I would probably change to them.

Virgin - Expensive, Expensive, Expensive, also no online support and from what I understand they "Don't offer interleaving"(Something along those lines, someone said it to my friend who is with Virgin and who is having a bad time)

Really now all of these 'main stream' ISPs seem to offer little bits which I want but don't offer all that I am looking for... can anyone give suggestions?

Be Unlimited is one of the best providers if you can get them. Was on their 24mb/s line at Uni with no throttling, no slow downs etc... perfect.

I believe they are owned by o2 who also have a great broadband reputation. As for TalkTalk... you can get just the internet, we do. However, I would not recommend them because of epic throttling at peak times.

Virgin.

I have Sky and my mum has virgin, her service just never goes down, its solid as a rock.

You pay for what you get.

The problem is they are unable to(as far as I know) lower ping through turning interleaving off, I would be willing to pay the extra amount to have a good online customer service like live chat or simply a forum where I can talk to an actual technician who knows what they are talking about.

The only thing to be weary about with Virgin is that they tend to be more active than other companies in handing over details of pirates and have sent out quite a few letters to customers. Saying that though, my friend has been on Virgin cable for a while and finds it perfect.

Sky & BE - LLU packages are truly unlimited.

Plusnet - only offer Unlimited downloads overnight.

Virgin - you wont need interleaving if using there cable service its very quick (15-25ms)

BT - Unlimited has a FUP of 300GB.

Talktalk - Well since you don't want to change phone no sky either then but if you can without changing phone then it means you're on an IPstream area which i would avoid like the plague.

o2 - Uses the same LLU as BE i'm away to be connected on the 26th i've heard good things but we'll see.

See whats available to you

Ok so I checked my local exchange and found this:

Cable Broadband Availability
Virgin Media:
Available in some areas
Smallworld Media:
Not available

if Virgin cable is avaliable will this mean low pings?

I am still really unsure on what ISP to pick from, all I want is a low ping like my friend who got moved onto a really good ping profile with talktalk and now gets like a 12ms ping.

I use Zen Internet as my ISP and they always win lots of awards for their service. Not sure what speed you could get with them though.
