E6300 Conroe Overclocking

Thread Starter
Hi all, was wondering if any of you are still using this ancient processor. I've had mine Overclocked to 3.1ghz, anything higher than that isn't stable though.

What I'd like is to clock it to at least 3.4Ghz without frying the processor or buying any extra hardware. Also, I'd like to keep the VCore below 1.4v.

I actually was able to use 3.2ghz for a while but I can't for the life of me, remember what my exact settings were.

Although I'm thinking my main bottleneck here could be my memory, it's just your standard bargain bin Kingston memory that probably wouldn't OC right if I hadn't put on my Xigmatek Dragoon heatspreaders.

Appreciate any ideas from you guys.

Here's my setup:
Intel C2D E6300 Conroe@3.1ghz (1.86ghz: 445x7 @1.34v)
Coolermaster V8 | Noctua NT-H1
Gigabyte EP45 UD3P F10
Kingston KVR800D2N6 2x2gb DDR2 @2.1v(6.6.6.18 timings) | Xigmatek Dragoon

Might get more responses if this was in the intel cpu section instead of the air cooling section

I'm using a E6400 (next chip up from the E6300) that I bought in March of 2007

Your OC is very respectable and I think 3.4 will be difficult with less than 1.4 volts (especilaly since ( need 1.4 to oc my E6400 which has a x8 multi where yours is x7 I believe)

Though the chips are good til 1.5 volts and < 61 cel (per intel so you have a little leeway)
