RAID configuration: SATA2 + SATA3?

Thread Starter
Just a quick question. I've got an older Caviar Black drive that uses SATA2, and I want to get a couple more and set them up in RAID.

The place I usually get my hardware from only has the SATA3 models available now, and I prefer not to buy from other stores. Newegg, for example adds extra shipping fees for parts separated between two warehouses.

What I would like to know is this: If I order a pair of SATA3 drives, will they work with my current drive in a RAID configuration?

I'm not worried about that. I'm wondering if I can use both the SATA3 drives + the SATA2 drive in a RAID 5 configuration, or if I would need them all to be the same version.

Doesn't matter versions. You can use seagate + wd + sanding if you want

Raid takes the lowest capacity and slowest speed of all drives in arraid and treats the drives like all are the slowest/lowest
