555BE (unlocked) Windows won't boot, but Ubuntu does

Hi

When I unlock my 555BE (x2 to x4) Windows (Win7 Home Premium 32 ) won't boot. I have bumped the VCore as well as NB volts, to no avail. Ubuntu on the other hand boots just fine on x4 @ 3200 (everything else stock).

Ran MPrime (Prime 95 for *nix) for 15mins and it seems fine.

When I disable the 3rd core, both OSs boot fine. I ran the *shudders* ASUS auto overclock and it got the CPU up to 4122MHz (Three Cores) (~38C idle, ~50C after 4Hours of Prime 95 Blend)

Is it a faulty Core? I am confused, since Ubuntu can use it just fine. (CPU-G detects 4 cores).

Thanks

+1 I'm usually on Linux. I just ran startup repair with all 4 cores active, and windows complained about some patch that is stopping it from booting. Sigh. Guess I'll just limit it to 3 cores for games.

Thanks

Your 4th core is just faulty I guess. Windows stresses each core evenly, dunno about Ubuntu. Not to mention like 2 games use 4 cores...I can't believe I got a 1090T for gaming, lol

Addition to earlier post on this thread.
I have been able to unlock cores 2 and 3 and boot into windows but only as a 2 core cpu (cores 0 and 2 and 0 and 3.) Any advice on bios tweaks would be appreciated

Try running these cores @ 1.4V's for starters on stock speeds:
Core 0
Core 2
Core 4

Then try:
Core 0
Core 1
Core 3

Then:
0
1
4

And so on. Try to get that X2 550 BE unlocked. Mine just doesn't want to unlock.
