OC 1055t, help need some advices, thanks!

Hi. This is my first post here on this forum , I found it thanks to google, almost 90% of all my overclocking questions led me to this site, which is why I joined it.

I own a 1055t with a Gigabyte 870A-UD3 mobo and a Noctua NH-D14 cooler.

I started to clock last night for the very first time (after reading a litte about clocking the phenom II).

Now I've got a few questions:

1. I left vcore on auto, is this good or bad? Should I keep it auto or try manual? Either way, at 3,6ghz the vcore is about 1,2v. Isn't this a bit wierd or do I have good model of the CPU? (or do all 1055t act this way?). Is it showing the right value? because my CPU core sensor shows wrong when measuring temperatures.

2. How do I keep Cool n Quiet working after clock? I'd love to use it because when idling, surfing or just doing some easy stuff I don't want my computer to run at the full clock. It will lower the electricity bill and the noise from my case.

3. I now run it at 3,6ghz with only increasing the FSB, nothing else. My temps are the same as when it was 2,8ghz, maybe 2-3c higher.
25-27c in idle and around 35-37c in full load. Im measuring this with the motherboard sensor, not the CPU sensor (which shows approx 8-10c lower than these numbers).
Can these numbers be real? Some people say that my sensor is showing wrong.
When I replaced my stock fan with the Noctua D14 i lowered my full load temperature with 19c, belivable?

That's it for now and I really hope you can answer on my questions because I wanna learn and have huge interests in this .

You seem to be very kind here on this forum!
Thank you in advance!

cheers
nikko

Welcome to the forums Nikkopo

1. Just leave the Vcore on auto until you get unstable and then raise it a bit. 1.2v is very good. I need 1.313v for 3.5 ghz.

2. Just turn on Cool and Quiet after you've found your stable and desired clock. Works for me.

3. Remember to downclock your HT-Link frequency as close as 2000 possible, as raising FSB also increases NB, HT and memory speeds. Try to keep memory as close as stock and NB 2500 - 3000 stable.

Try to look your temps from the socket temp, not the core themps. They are off by 5c - 12c. 55c is the max you should go when stress testing.

What program do you use to stress test?

Hi and thank you!

I have cool n quiet enabled in BIOS, but still it doesnt work. When I turn down my FSB to 200 (which is standard) it kicks in, otherwise it's not . Anyone got a solution?

About the socket temp, yes thats where Im looking. According to those I have 35-37c full load at 3,6ghz with OCCT, which is awesomly nice I assume?

About the NB and HT, they are auto and always clock themself to as close to 2ghz as possible when I'm changing the FSB .
Same thing with the RAM, they run around 1333mhz but my RAM are 1600mhz. Does this mean I can take em up to 1600mhz without them being overheated?

cheers

I'm not familiar with your Motherboard so if there isnt any cool and quiet options anywhere, dunno. Those are very nice temps, but to be sure download Prime95 and run a small FFT's test for 10 minutes to get max load. 8+ hours on P95 Blend test overnight should quarantee full stability.

Dont know about ram too much, but It would be better to keep it at stock. The performance add up is minimal.

Nice temps

And what do you mean it doesn't work? You can't change the CnQ property to enabled?
