Another question about cases...
Has anyone ever had one of the cases that have an integrated LCD or 7" touchscreen on them? Wondering if its more gimmick or if it has actual value to have such a display for an entertainment center setup.

Gimmick.... Why are you getting up from your couch to touch the computer?

Why use a 7" screen when you have your TV in front of you?

Where did you buy the Quad Ceton Tuner?
Once again...

I wouldn't be, but if it can display pertinent info about what media center is doing (clock, channel, etc), then it would be very useful for me. (i dont care about the screen being "touch" honestly)
I really want to know how well they integrate (even a monochrome LCD) with media center and what type of information i can expect to see on it in different scenarios of use.

The only reason i could think of would be to multi-task since the significant other does not like when i interrupt prime time TV watching...

Just an update, finally got the system built and it is currently running, but need to switch out some fans (that i had on hand) for some quieter ones. Anyone have good recommendations on quiet 120MM fans? Also, my NB fan is a tad on the loud side, any good 60MM (i think) i should look into?

I was looking for information on something similar - did you ever find something to fit the bill?

I finally bought a case i did not mention earlier in this post. I went with the nMEDIAPC 2000B + nMEDIAPC 20x2 LCD
Since i am still working on the hardware side, i have only seen the LCd lit up and displaying the default content (just text). I like the color (blue) and brightness of it and really want to install the software that can control it.
From the reviews i read about other LCD for different cases and this seemed to have the best mix of software and functionality. As soon as i can get the noise level down (and reconfigure the video card since it seems not to like being in slot 2 when slot 1 (PCI-E) is empty... and the airflow was so nice too!) and know i wont be taking the box apart again, i'll be setting up software and then i'll report on how the LCD works!

Awesome - have this thread subbed as I just purchased my ceton quad tuner this week and it is on the way to the house now! Time to send the Comcast DVR packing for good and get my wife eased over to using just the HTPC full time.

Just an update...

The machine is up and running (stable) so far. The LCD display on the front is, unfortunately, less than optimal. When close, it is easy to read and can give you a ton of different info. When looking ta it from across the room, The blue-on-blue dsiplay just get blurry and washed out. I love the NMEDIA case, but the LCD add-on is simply meh... also, i have yet to find out why when the Media Center is running, it will not display anything other than :unknown" instead of channel #'s.

As for the original box/motherboard. Zotac did replace it for a new one, but i have the same issue with crashing/overheating (though now the CPU is underclocked)... the tinkering continues.
