Trust OCCT's GPU Scan? - Page 3

The pixel result can be changed by forcing AF. The higher the AF, the bigger the change.

This might be what gives people an error. (See cinebench 11.5 pixel error if AF is forced)

I'm not looking for some ungodly OC, I just would like 800/1600/1950. Is it possible my motherboard is causing this or I have a bad card?
No your motherboard seems fine and so does your GPU. If your card can run Crysis, it is certainly not completely unstable. BUt even one error in OCCT makes your overclock unstable (technically that is). It is possible and even probable that nothing you do will recreate OCCT's harsh testing conditions, but nevertheless, even 1 error means the overclock is not fully stable. No matter how many runs of Crysis you can run.

Here's an analogy. Let's say you have a theory. It's very good. Actually, it applies to everything you know. But then suddenly, you figure out an exception. One single, tiny exception. Your theory is invalidated.

occt is really hard, but i think actually occt is right XD

i had my gtx460 850-1150, cero artifacts con atitool, gputool, furmark, kombustor, and a lot of games...........only gta4 and crysis gave me artifacts but it was rarely

so i went down on oc until occt was artifact free, so gta4 and crysis also shows no artifacts

still most games didn't show artifacts on the higher oc, only gta4 and crysis, and off course occt

gta4 and crysis? true.

I need a stable GPU platform for folding - thats why I use OCCT.

As too erroring out due to heat, with my cooler, Im lucky to get above 70c during stressing. If it aint stable, it aint stable.

Your call, if its just games and non critical applications, knock yourself out - go hard. Just be aware you may have the occasional crash.

I've used OCCT GPU and it gave me errors (maybe 20 in 30min) when temps went high and temps were 30C higher than in any games and 20C higher than Furmark..

I've kept my OC regardless of errors and never had artifacts or crashes in games ever since and that was a year ago..

Also when I was OCing my card I could pass Furmark 30 min easily with 780MHz on core but I would crash in Crysis or Dirt2 after a few minutes..

So I had to back down to 760MHz to make crashes (lockups=driver crashes)go away..

I use 750MHz just to be 24/7 crash proof..

CHEERS..

I'm just gonna let it be for now. Unless it starts giving me any problems in games, I'm not gonna worry about it.

Just in case anyone else was having a similar problem, I seemed to have rectified mine in an odd way. I updated my BIOS by applying EVGA's "Fan Unlocker" update (70.10.17.00.70 to 70.10.17.00.71). Now I know the main purpose of the bios update is just to allow 100% fan, but obviously either there was something wrong with my original bios or they changed something else as well because I just ran 810/1620/2000 @ 0.988v for one hour with no errors.
