The Asus boards are really good this time around.

I don't see how there is any hate.

I know i'm gonna have every asus fanboy yelling at me for this but asus quality has REALLY dropped over the past few years and i wouldn't buy another one due to the amount of problems that keep popping up, even from their higher end boards. Go with a Gigabyte or even a ECS for a new Sandy Bridge board, not to say any other brand is better or worse, that's just what i'm looking into...........DOWN WITH ASUS!(*cough cough* look around like I didn't just say that)

Don't want to start an argument here.. But, I have had absolutely no concerns with Asus recent build quality. Do you care to explain why your under that impression?

ECS, really? Check their BIOS support for the P67 boards and you'll find that the latest ones are from October. Good luck getting past 4.7GHz.

or do people buy based on name alone?
Why did you chose asus when your time can and not biostar just curious

Valid points, but people will always go with the brand they have been satisfied with the most, or what sounds more appealing to them. People don't go for the minimum either, they want features even if they will never use them. You can't change this, so don't even try.

Replying to Digigami's post asking my reasons, here are some of my friends problems, along with some of my own, the usb ports on the back of my motherboard decide when they wanna work, my buddy imadude10, who is also a member of ocn, when he had an asus, the it just died after like a year. my friend gram had to bend the corner of his motherboard to get it to post. Although Asus customer support is fantastic, i'd rather have a brand that doesn't make me wait a month to get new hardware. I just want my PC to work the first time, which i'm not sure very many people will disagree with this last statement. I'm not saying ALL Asus motherboards are bad, just saying my Asus quality experience has been substandard to what other people have had.
