When replacing TIM on GPU do I also have to replace the thermal pads?

Do I? or do I have to put some TIM instead?

Do not replace the thermal pads. Do not use TIM except on the gpu core.

If your pads are messed up, you have to buy new ones.

Messed up in what way?

They will be squashed, but messed up (ie:missing/torn badly), doesn't really happen unless the card is very old. Just leave them.

Bought this card in april 2009, it would be the first time I change the TIM
