Troubleshooting BrainTeaser. Weird comp. prob

Thread Starter
I tried autoclocking my cpu in amd overdrive. As soon as I hit start, my comp. just froze so I did hard reset and from then my comp. wouldnt post. Resetting bios didnt help.

Here is a list of combinations I've tried:

New Mobo + my current cpu = no post
New cpu + current mobo = no post
My cpu in different rig = post
Different cpu in my rig = post
Different ram in my rig = no post
Without HDD = no post
Without GPU (using onboard gpu) = no post

This is the first time I've ever encountered this kind of problem..

What should I do???

+rep for all help

Wich cpu did you use to test your board? It might be a chip with a lower tdp pointing to eighter your psu or some sort of problem with the vrm's on your gigabyte board.

Do the leds on your motherboard light up? I'm not familiar with anything in your setup honestly but I do have gen experience. You autoclocking in the bios should have nothing to do with the bios correct? If you push the power button and nothing happens, no fancy LEDS and all, no debug screen try a different PSU. If that doesn't work than test every component separately. Don't bother testing with the HDD right now, shouldn't affect post.

New CPU
New Motherboard
New Ram
Old PSU

If you get post on this than continue using the Old PSU because you've verified that it works.

New CPU
New Motherboard
Old Ram
Old PSU

and repeat

The average Athlon II has a tdp of 65w, Your 955 has a tdp of 125w. Take a good look at the vrm's to see if non of them has burnmarks.

I got not leds on mobo but when I push the power button all the fans are working but the screen is blank, I might try a different psu
