Help wiring fan controller

Hey guys,

So I just bought a Scythe Kaze Server and took some of the molex apart for the sole purpose of testing this new pin remover, and now I don't remember which one goes where (yeah, I know, noob would be an understatement:mad: )

I need to know which cable goes where in the next 2 pictures:

* These pins are to be attached to a male molex

This is the power 4 pin female...

... that plugs in here:

Thanks !!!

That small white connector you have will only fit in one way. Plug that into the board and then push the wires in. Yellow on top, then black, black and red on the bottom. You can see the wire order listed right under the connector on the circuit board. smile.gif

The molex is just the same as the one on the other end. The bottom one if you look where it plugs in there's +12v, GND, GND, +5v below the plug. Thats the four pins top to bottom, yellow = +12, red = +5, Black = GND.

Hi.

For the Molex connector, the connections should be straight across.

You could take the other end of the Molex connector and plug it into the still-wired end and then wrap each wire around to line them up.

For the 4-pin header, then wiring may not be straight across.

Here is an image of a 3-pin header that you could use as a guide. Note that there should be a small arrow on the small plastic header, this denotes the ground wire.

Thanks everyone for your help!
I will try your suggestions first thing in the morning (too sleepy now and would probably f*ck something up yet again)
