Prolly 1/5-1/4th of blocks value (as they usually charge prep and go by the surface / overall square inch). That is nickel plating only. If you want chrome over it, even more. But it does nothing then just to harden surface against scratches, with are easy to do on nickel.

Mips has some pretty nice looking blocks on the AquaTuning site, but PPCs is starting to carry them also. They have a really nifty looking Copper/Nickel plated RAM block but yeesh it's not for the faint of heart. $110 for it.

Are you talking about the overall nickel problems or just the most recent EN GPU block? Their plating problems from a few months back were related to all of their nickel plated products, CPU, GPU, Mobo, Ram.

I'm getting ready to do my first custom watercooled TJ07 build and I had my eyes set on the EK products because of their performance and looks but I'm starting to question whether its worth the risk. I have to admit that the acrylic tops look great and I like the idea of being able to see inside without taking it apart so I'm really torn between rolling the dice on EK or going elsewhere.

Well, that's disheartening to hear about the EN blocks suffering the same fate (but not surprising). Now people will have to jump ship to get their nickel fix. If you are copper fanatic or just don't care either way, EK is still a source for blocks.
I would like to see other companies step up and produce more non-reference full cover blocks. One of the good things about EK is variety.
