I keep forgetting to get some smile.gif.

I usually do that w/ the rads. I would suspect whoever does the nickel plating for ek would rinse the blocks in a cleaning solution that's safe for the plating and then in safe water such as distilled. I didn't clean my first two blocks and they are pristine.

Sorry about the long delayed update. I've been waiting for a couple parts for an upgrade so I haven't been able to take photos of my waterblock in question untill now. As I have already mentioned, i've only used primochill pc ice and silver in my water loop. I am assuming this is a manufacturing defect considering the problem is only isolated in one area as with other cases shown in the photos below.

Same thing with mine. Submit a ticket and refer them to this thread too. I'm pulling mine this weekend and I'm going to take up Greg's offer for a bottom replacement.

a bit over a month and the nickel plating is coming off even more, I had suspected this all the time. Just waited to comply w/ Greg's request (from EK support). I'll be updating the ticket later today frown.gif

Damn, that really sucks. When I take a part my loop for cleaning definitely going to have to take my tops off the FC470s and see how they look (acetal). Anyone know a common place to pick up some silicone grease for those o-rings? Heard they're a pain in the butt to get back on sometimes.

Sorry for the side question. Good luck to you wermad, sure is a shame.

Koolance would be my next choice, though I didn't switch completely since their R3E mb block has the ports in unusual place (for me tongue.gif)
